Airport, rail and matchday travel
GETTING THERE
The Central Stadium is west of Almaty's historic centre and has metro and bus access. Traffic can materially lengthen road journeys. Routes were checked on 29 July 2026; always confirm the live timetable before travel.
Almaty International Airport (ALA) → city centre
- Bus 92 is the main daytime public-transport link toward the centre and the Almaty-2 station area; route 3 provides a night connection.
- Official airport taxis are the practical alternative for late arrivals, heavy luggage or a hotel away from the bus corridor.
Almaty-2 / Almaty-1 stations → centre
- Almaty-2 is the central intercity station and is linked onward by city buses and taxis.
- Almaty-1 is farther north-east and closer to the airport; check the local bus connection before treating it as a city-centre arrival.
City centre → Almaty Central Stadium
- Baikonur metro station is the most useful rapid-transit stop for the stadium district; complete the journey on foot.
- Several city buses serve the Abay Avenue / Satpayev Street area. Use the live official route map because stop patterns can change.
