Airport, rail and matchday travel
GETTING THERE.
Gibraltar is compact, has no railway, and the airport is beside the frontier. Europa Point is at the southern end of the territory. Routes were checked on 27 July 2026; always confirm the live timetable before travel.
Gibraltar Airport (GIB) / frontier → town centre
- The terminal is close enough to walk into the northern town centre; local buses and taxis are available outside the airport / frontier area.
- Travellers arriving through Málaga Airport normally continue by coach or road to La Línea de la Concepción and cross the frontier on foot.
Spanish rail / coach arrivals → Gibraltar
- Gibraltar has no railway. The nearest practical Spanish intercity hubs are Algeciras and San Roque-La Línea, followed by bus or taxi to the frontier.
- La Línea bus station is a short walk from the pedestrian border crossing.
Gibraltar town centre → Europa Point Stadium
- Gibraltar Bus Company services run south toward Europa Point; route 2 is the key route to check.
- Taxi is the other practical option. Walking the full length of the territory is possible but includes gradients and can take well over an hour.
