The draw answered one of two travel questions
UEFA's draw on 27 August assigned eight opponents to each of the 36 league-phase clubs and turned a list of possible destinations into a real shortlist.
It did not settle the complete journey by itself. A home opponent suggested an airport, stadium area and hotel market, but the usable travel window still depended on the official date and kick-off published on 29 August.
The fixture list is the booking threshold
UEFA published the league-phase fixture list, including match dates and kick-off times, on Saturday 29 August. Matchday one begins on 8 September.
That short gap matters. Buying around an assumed Tuesday or Wednesday can create an extra hotel night, an impossible arrival or a departure that leaves no margin after the final whistle.
Use draw day to compare options
The useful work after the draw is reversible: compare direct and connecting routes, identify cancellable accommodation and check the club’s official ticket path. Keep each option attached to the correct city and stadium.
A booking becomes stronger when the football, local transport and return journey agree. The dated fixture has now appeared, but flexible conditions still matter because schedules, ticket access and transport can change.
