Direct city transfer

Taxi or private transfer can suit groups, but matchday road controls make rail or the stadium shuttle a stronger final approach.

03 · arriving by train

Main stations

Use the station that fits the accommodation and stadium route, not simply the first result in a journey search.
01

Birmingham New Street

Principal national and regional rail hub

Take a local train to Witton or Aston, or use the current AV82 matchday shuttle when scheduled.

02

Birmingham Moor Street / Snow Hill

Central regional rail stations

Walk or transfer through the centre to the appropriate Villa Park rail or shuttle connection.

03

Birmingham International

Airport and NEC rail interchange

Continue by train towards Birmingham New Street before taking the stadium corridor.

04 · matchday route

City centre to the stadium

The final event plan can change station access, pedestrian controls and road closures. Recheck before every match.
Aston, north Birmingham

Villa Park

Recommended approach
Use local rail from Birmingham New Street to Witton or Aston, then follow the signed walk. Both stations help distribute matchday demand.
Alternatives
The AV82 city-centre shuttle currently runs from outside New Street for selected matchdays; EURO-specific arrangements will be confirmed later.
After full time
Check both Aston and Witton rather than defaulting to the arrival station. Trains and platforms can be managed after major fixtures.

05 · the return leg

Plan beyond full time

  1. Use the Air-Rail Link and Birmingham International for airport rail journeys.
  2. Choose Witton or Aston by the final destination and event instructions.
  3. Check whether a dedicated city-centre shuttle is operating for the match.
  4. Allow a buffer at New Street before a late intercity or airport connection.
Accessibility check

Review Birmingham Airport assistance, Birmingham International transfer access and the selected Villa Park station. Witton and Aston do not offer identical facilities.
