02 · arriving by air

Manchester Airport (MAN)

The airport transport interchange links terminals with trains, trams, buses and coaches. Rail is usually the simplest route to Piccadilly for a stadium connection.
Train

Airport to Manchester Piccadilly

Direct trains connect the airport station with Manchester Piccadilly. From there, change to Metrolink or use the signed walking route towards the stadium.

Tram

Airport Metrolink

Metrolink serves the airport and reaches the city network. It can suit accommodation on the tram corridor, although rail is generally faster to Piccadilly.

Main stations

Use the station that fits the accommodation and stadium route, not simply the first result in a journey search.
01

Manchester Piccadilly

Principal intercity, airport rail and local interchange

Change to Metrolink for Etihad Campus or follow the official stadium walking route.

02

Manchester Victoria

Rail and Metrolink hub

Connect through the tram network towards Etihad Campus.

03

Manchester Oxford Road

Central rail stop

Continue on foot or by city transport to Piccadilly/Metrolink depending on the accommodation.

04 · matchday route

City centre to the stadium

The final event plan can change station access, pedestrian controls and road closures. Recheck before every match.
Etihad Campus, east Manchester

Recommended approach
Use Metrolink to Etihad Campus. The stop is beside the stadium complex and is the clearest public-transport route from central Manchester.
Alternatives
Walking from Piccadilly and event buses are viable for some supporters. Road traffic and parking controls make taxi arrival less predictable near kick-off.
After full time
Tram queues are managed after events. A walk back towards the centre can be a useful fallback for supporters able to make it.

Plan beyond full time

  1. Use Manchester Piccadilly as the default airport-to-stadium interchange.
  2. Check Bee Network service notices and the Etihad event page on match day.
  3. Allow for controlled tram queues after the final whistle.
  4. Keep walking to the centre as a weather- and mobility-dependent fallback.
Accessibility check

Use Bee Network accessibility information and the stadium event guide. Confirm the airport terminal-to-station walking requirement when requesting assistance.
