02 · arriving by air

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL)

The airport has no terminal rail station. Use a direct city bus or connect by bus with Liverpool South Parkway for onward rail.
Direct bus

Airport to Liverpool city centre

The 500 is the airport’s current fastest direct bus to central Liverpool. Check the official timetable and final city stop before travel.

Bus + rail

Via Liverpool South Parkway

Bus connections link the terminal with Liverpool South Parkway, where local and mainline rail services continue towards Lime Street and beyond.

03 · arriving by train

Main stations

Use the station that fits the accommodation and stadium route, not simply the first result in a journey search.
01

Liverpool Lime Street

Principal intercity rail terminal

Walk to central shuttle stops or connect with the local rail network towards Moorfields/Sandhills.

02

Moorfields

Central Merseyrail station

Useful for Northern line services towards Sandhills and the north waterfront.

03

Liverpool South Parkway

Airport bus and rail interchange

Continue by rail towards the centre; do not treat it as the final accommodation or stadium stop by default.

04 · matchday route

City centre to the stadium

The final event plan can change station access, pedestrian controls and road closures. Recheck before every match.

Recommended approach
Use the current Merseytravel matchday plan: central shuttle services or Merseyrail towards Sandhills, followed by the published walking or booked accessible shuttle route.
Alternatives
Moorfields, Bank Hall and city-centre walking/shuttle options may be used depending on event controls. Services are still evolving around the new venue.
After full time
Expect heavy demand at Sandhills and on shuttle routes. Recheck the EURO-specific plan when published rather than relying on a normal Everton fixture pattern.

Plan beyond full time

  1. Choose direct airport bus or South Parkway rail connection by the hotel location.
  2. Check the dedicated Merseytravel event page, not only a generic map.
  3. Pre-book any accessible stadium shuttle when the event requires it.
  4. Keep a central-city shuttle and a rail/walking alternative in the plan.
Accessibility check

Current accessible shuttles can require advance booking. EURO 2028 arrangements are not yet published, so verify with the tournament and transport authority before committing.
